A quality playset is based on the species of wood, the thickness of the wood, the hardware that holds your playset together, the warranty and service. Low cost box playsets use low cost thin lumber and small lightweight hardware. Also, the swing beam weight ratings are for people 150 lbs or less. Mass market sets come completely broke down into many pieces making installation a nightmare. These sets are designed simply for cost savings and mass produced over seas. Mass market playsets have poor quality control, low cost designs and they need to be tightened regularly to avoid leaning and tilting. These box sets also have very low resale value and there warranties are weak. These sets look nice and the price might be good but the wood will not last and you will most likely be replacing boards regularly. We encourage you to include us in your research and visit one of our locations. We have 15 playsets on display at each store. We can show you quality, play value for your dollar, selection and great friendly service. Do it right the first time and you will be glad you did!
**If companies tell you that their playsets are a mixture of different species of wood and they wont tell you what pieces are which species than it is most likely all white wood. These are low cost types of wood and are not resistant to rot and decay. Redwood, Cedar and Cypress are the preferred lumber for playset construction.**
